  Parliament to debate nuclear tests' fallout
The Bharatiya Janata Party-led Government has decided to go in for a full-fledged discussion in Parliament on the fallout of the series of nuclear tests conducted by the country. But the discussion is likely to generate a lot of heat, if the statements made by former defence minister Mulayam Singh Yadav and Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Laloo Prasad Yadav are any indication.
  Congress happy with Sangma's remedies
The extended Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting has agreed to the recommendations of the P A Sangma task force which looked into the restructuring of the ailing Congress. This means that the party could soon have shadow ministries, on the lines of British parties, and give prominence to regional committees given the country's size.

No compromise on boundary: NSCN
The military chief of the banned National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Isak-Muviah group) V S Atem has said that while he and his men were hopeful that peace talks between NSCN leaders and the Prime Minister would find a solution to the Naga problem, he was wary about the actual nature of the solution.
BJP-Lok Shakti alliance will stay for by-elections
The Bharatiya Janata Party and Lok Shakti will have the same alliance that worked well in the Lok Sabha elections, for the coming by-elections to seven seats for the Assembly. While BJP will field candidates in four seats, Lok Shakti will be fielding in three.

Hegde, Jethmalani do not figure in Jaya's guest list
Any hope that the recent co-ordination committee meeting in New Delhi might have ironed out the differences within the BJP coalition was demolished on Thursday with the AIADMK leader J Jayalalitha announcing the guest list for her party's thanksgiving rally, keeping out Union Ministers Ramakrishna Hegde and Ram Jethmalani while inviting other leaders.
Mamata helped BJP rise, says WB Congress
The West Bengal Congress has blamed Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee for helping the `fascist' Bharatiya Janata Party gain ground in the State. The party's manifesto for the coming panchayat polls, released on Friday, recalled that Ajoy Mukherjee and Prafulla Sen, two former chief ministers and rebel Congress leaders, had helped the CPI(M) once to establish itself as a major force in the State.
