Jordan magic spells title for Chicago Bulls
For one more and perhaps one last time, Michael Jordan delivered an NBA Championship to the Chicago Bulls almost single-handedly and with just seconds to go. Jordan scored 45 points and made the key play as only he could, stealing the ball from Karl Malone and hitting a jumper with 5.2 seconds left to give Chicago an 87-86 victory Sunday night and a 4-2 series victory over the Utah Jazz.
French strike force short of firepower
The French team got off to a perfect start with their emphatic 3-0 victory over South Africa. They have some incredibly talented players but there were still doubts about whether they have sufficient firepower to go all the way in the tournament.
English soccer hooligans strike again
English Soccer hooligans ran amok in this southern French city, battling Tunisians, police and local people in a series of running battles ahead of a World Cup match. Drunken hooligans fought pitched fights with chairs, knives, bottles and glasses, burning cars and attacking bystanders on Sunday.
