India may hire Dole's firm for lobbying
In the high-stakes influence-peddling game that animates political Washington, Pakistan has stolen a march by employing a former White Huse aide, Lanny Davis as a lobbyist. While Islamabad has scored with hiring Davis, India is considering hiring Zerner, Liipfert, Bernhard, McPherson and Hand, a firm that employs former Presidential candidate Bob Dole and former Senate majority leader George Mitchell among others.

Japanese Parliament okays funding for $116 billion stimulus package
The Japanese Parliament has passed a supplementary budget to finance a stimulus package worth 16.6 trillion yen ($116 billion) for the shrinking economy. The extra budget for the year, worth 4.65 trillion yen, won approval from the upper house by a vote of 125 to 93 after clearing the all-important lower house on Monday.
