MUMBAI, JUNE 21: Defeated Rajya Sabha candidate from Maharashtra Ram Pradhan said tonight that he was not blaming senior Congress leader Sharad Pawar for his defeat in the June 18 biennial elections to the Upper House of Parliament.``I am not a complainant,'' he said, adding ``Pawar worked very hard, but ultimately it is the result that counts.'' Asked if he blamed Pawar for the defeat, Pradhan shot back ``of course not.''
Meanwhile, Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) chief Ranjit Deshmukh said some party MLAs had cross-voted due to political enmity with Pawar while some others succumbed to ``money power''.
Meanwhile, several members of Pawar camp reiterated that there had been an effort by certain MLAs loyal to Pawar's detractor SB Chavan to malign the Maratha strongman by getting Pradhan defeated.
