2 succumb to burns
Two persons died in separate cases of burns deaths, cases registered in the the Salabatpura and Umra police station said. One 21-year-old Salma Bibi, wife of Abdul Qadir and residing at Dodiyawaad in Salabatpura, died in the Maskati hospital on Sunday morning, after she was admitted there with severe burn injuries, which she sustained when the stove on which she was cooking exploded. In another case registered at the Umra police station, Shivaji Vaadaj, 50 was declared dead on admission to the Maskati Hospital, where he was admitted on Sunday morning with severe burn injuries. The Umra police stated that Vaadaj was asleep when an oil lamp fell on him and set his clothes on fire.

Theft
The Mahidharpura police have registered a case of theft against an unidentified youth, who escaped with a bag containing Rs 1.18 lakhs in cash belonging to a person, relieving himself at a urinal near Mudada Gate underbridge on Sunday morning. Dayaljibhai Rathod, a resident of Raghuvir Society at Amroli, complained to the police that when he was relieving himself, an unidentified youth snatched his bag containing the cash and escaped. Although Rathod raised an alarm, the culprit still managed to escape, he added. A case under IPC 379 has been registered at the police station and is being investigated.

Snake bite
One Zaverbhai Nathabhai, 30, a resident of Kosad on the outskirts of the city, died due to snake-bite on Sunday at the New Civil hospital of the city, the Katargam police said. When Nathabhai was sleeping in a farm, owned by his cousin, Harshadbhai, he was bitten by a poisonous snake during the early hours of Saturday, the police added. A case under CrPC 174 has been registered.
