ONGC extends help to the cyclone affected

VADODARA, June 21: Medicines and packets of dry rations were donated to the cyclone-affected families at Jamnagar by the ONGC. A team of ONGC employees and doctors also toured the cyclone-affected districts and conducted medical camps at various sites like Rawal, Badin Tara, Hanumandhara, Khirasara villages in Kalyanpur taluka and Beraja, Jhakasia, Sanjaynagar villages in Jam Khambalia taluka.

The voluntary team lead by J B Bhaya and Dr R B Paty included Dr A C Shingh, K B Kurup, D Mallick, D M Parmar, J V Shukla, B Upadhya, S B Jha, K K Wankar, Ram Kailash, R A Wankar, P D Parmar, R B Makwana, J Parmar, M Burman and Urmila Banerjee.

Apart from this Executive Director, ONGC, WRBC, N Lal met the chief minister and presented him with a cheque of Rs 10 lakh for relief activities. ONGC employees have also volunteered to donate a day's wages, amounting to Rs 50 lakh, for the cause.

As a part of the community development project, ONGC accepted Tarsali Gram Panchayat's request for upgradation of crematorium facilities and has decided to contribute a sum of Rs 3.5 lakh for the project.

The Rural Development Project initiated by ONGC with the Centre for Continuing Adult Education and Community Services, M S University has commenced with five project proposals being approved to be implemented in five talukas of Padra taluka. The projects include Nutrition and Health Education through Multimedia, Dai Training, Day Care Organiser's Training, Aids Awareness Generation and Functional Literacy.

The 21st Safety Week Valedictory Function will be held at ONGC Officers' Club, Baroda on 23rd June. The function is being organised by the Safety and Environment Management Division of ONGC. While A K Rudra, Deputy Director of Mines Safety, Ajmer will be the Chief Guest, N Lal, Executive Director, ONGC, WRBC will be the guest of Honour.

A cultural programme on Safety Awareness will also be held as a part of the function. Prize-winners of various projects, installations, who have had the best safety record last year were honoured and of the poster, slogan and cartoon competition would be honoured at the end of the function.

N Lal, Executive Director, ONGC, WRBC, performed the Bhoomi Pujan at Balol group gathering station-II recently. C Lal, Project head of Mehsana, Dr P S V Rao, who heads the E and C division and other senior officials of Vadodara and Mehsana were present at this occasion.

The function marks the modification and upgradation works of installations namely group gathering station-II, III, IV in Balol near Mehsana. This project is a part of the In-situ Combustion project, Balol (Main) sanctioned at a cost of Rs 118.49 crore.
