DMK MLA's teenaged son stabbed to death in house
Kumar alias Senthil Kumar (17), son of ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) legislator Velusamy was allegedly murdered by unidentified persons at his residence in Indira Nagar, Madurai in the wee hours of Sunday. Velusamy was elected MLA from Madurai East constituency.

Railway police get licence to kill dacoits
The inspector general of police S S Suradkar has issued an order allowing railway police to shoot down dacoits if they are found to be looting train passengers and endangering the lives of people. The order to this effect has been issued in the south sector of Maharashtra to tackle train robberies. Additional police force has been deployed in these areas in view of repeated dacoity attempts. Besides constables, officers also would go on night patrol to check train robberies.

More trouble for Clinton as Lewinsky offers to bare all
Monica Lewinsky, the former White House intern whose alleged affair with President Bill Clinton set off a scandal that threatened to sink the presidency, has offered to testify that she indeed had sex with Clinton. The offer is part of a strategy designed by her new team of lawyers and is part of a deal being negotiated with independent counsel Kenneth Starr, who is investigating Presidential misconduct.
