Emperor Clinton takes entire White House with him to China
Call it Emperor Bill Clinton's royal entourage. As the leader of the free world embarks today on the first visit to Communist China by a US President after the Tiananmen massacre, the size and sweep of his retinue compares favourably with that of a medieval monarch on a grand tour. In fact, it is such a titanic journey that one advance agent was quoted as saying the White House was moving to China. In hackdom, the joke is everyone who is anyone in Washington is leaving -- except Monica Lewinsky and Ken Starr.

Salvage of sunken N Korean sub begins
South Korea on Wednesday began work to salvage the North Korean submarine which sank, military authorities said, with all those on board feared dead. Yonhap news agency said divers were to attach four 20-tonne air bags to the North Korean vessel which sank as it was being towed to a pier at the heavily-guarded naval base.

Lahore HC plotting against me: Bhutto
Former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto has accused the court -- which has frozen her properties -- of colluding with Accountability Bureau chief and Premier Nawaz Sharif's close aide Saifur Rehman. An agitated Bhutto, who appeared before the two-member Special Accountability Bench of the Lahore High Court on Tuesday, alleged that the court passed orders against her without giving her a just hearing.
