Form government if you can, BJP dares Left, Congress
In an angry reaction to the Left parties' declaration that they would support the Congress in order to dislodge the BJP-led government, the BJP accused the CPI(M) and CPI of political immorality and a desire to subvert the people's mandate. It challenged the Opposition: `"If you have the capacity and the numbers, form the government."

Kalyan govt paints Lucknow saffron
In six months, the Mayawati Government managed to change the colour of Lucknow's government buildings and road dividers into blue. Now the Kalyan Singh Government is erasing the BSP legacy and painting the city saffron. Though it means lakhs of rupees down the drain, the state urban development department, headed by Lalji Tandon, has issued an order saying that all important crossings and buildings on the main routes in the Prime Minister's constituency should be painted in saffron.

Congress may go easy on Pawar loyalists
The formation of the National Democratic Front (NDF) by the two prominent Yadav leaders could have the immediate effect of lowering temperatures on the Congress Maharashtra front with an opinion growing that further action against Sharad Pawar's loyalists be toned down. The show-cause notice to Praful Patel for anti-party activity during the recent Rajya Sabha elections, might be allowed to die down like it was done with another Pawar MP Datta Meghe.
