HYDERABAD, June 26: More than 100 passengers of the Sharjah-bound Indian Airlines flight (IC-591) from here had a miraculous escape late last night when the aircraft developed a technical snag during takeoff. Two crew members suffered minor injuries.The ``trouble in the wheels following a failure in the brake assembly'' delayed the flight's departure by 15 hours and caused much anxiety and hardship to the passengers. Including the crew, there were 118 persons on board.
Incidentally, Congress president Sonia Gandhi, accompanied by a host of party leaders, arrived here from Delhi last night by the same flight (Airbus 300). The flight which was scheduled to depart for Sharjah at 9.30 pm on Thursday, finally took off at 12.35 pm today.
