Pakistan two laps behind in N-race with India
Two new studies have shown that India's nuclear blast at Pokharan on May 11 was 13 times more powerful than the explosions by Pakistan at Chagai Hills on May 28 and that Islamabad's device was two generations behind the one exploded by New Delhi. The first study on yields was by Dr Terry C Wallace of the University of Arizona from a place in Tibet that was almost equidistant from Pokhran and Chagai Hills.

Round two: Jaswant will meet Talbott in Frankfurt next week
Efforts are on to repair the relationship between India and the US with Jaswant Singh, the Prime Minister's key aide, being deputed to meet the US deputy secretary of state Strobe Talbott in Frankfurt in the middle of next week. This will be the second encounter between Singh and Talbott in two months and it indicates a keenness on both sides to continue talking to each other.

Pakistan TV will be banned, says Naqvi
The Indian government is planning to amend the Cable TV Networks Regulation Act, 1995, in order to ban Pakistan Television, says Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi. Though the amendment/ordinance will not specifically mention the network, it will say that any network which is detrimental to the national culture, is providing misinformation or indulging in anti-India propaganda should be banned.
