Stir counter-productive

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
VADODARA, July 8: The Bharatiya Postal Employees Union, Postmen Group D, which has refused to participate in Thursday's strike call by a section of postal employees, has stated that the strike would only result in damaging the interests of the employees instead of helping them.

Stating that though the postal employees were largely satisfied by the Fifth Pay Commission's recommendations, few discrepancies in the same had already been represented to the Central Government. The BPEU added that those members who had called for the strike had earlier willingly signed and approved the Pay Commission's recommendations.

The union has urged the non-striking members to approach the Superintendent of Police or the Postmaster General if they are coerced into joining the stir on Thursday.
