Jethmalani calls for review of Statute
Union Urban Affairs and Employment Minister Ram Jethmalani yesterday called for an urgent review of the Constitution and the setting up of a national judicial commission. Addressing a "meet the media" programme at the Press Club of India, Jethmalani said that although the Indian Constitution was one of the best documents ever produced in the history of the world, it was good to keep assessing it from time to time.

Maharashtra decision on reserved candidate may offend EC
The Maharashtra government has decided to vest in itself the power to disqualify any candidate found elected from a reserved constituency using fake caste certificate. The decision could turnout to be controversial since the move would be an encroachment on what comes generally under Elections Commision jurisdiction or that of the competent judicial authority.
