PUNE, July 9: The Superintendent of Pune rural police Suresh Khopade has imposed restrictions on parking of vehicles on the Mumbai-Pune Highway in a bid to curb the frequent snarls at the hill stations of Lonavla and Khandala.Vehicular parking will be banned totally on the stretch of the highway between the Oriental Hotel and Hotel Hari International at Lonavla.
The road leading to the Bhushi Dam from INS Shivaji will be closed for all four wheelers on Saturdays, Sundays and all public holidays. Tourists visiting the hill stations will be provided with space to park their vehicles in Raiwood area.
Tourists visiting Bhushi Dam will not be allowed to carry liquor bottles. A special check post will be set up on the road to the dam to search the vehicles heading towards the dam. Stringent action will be taken against those who indulge in consuming liquor after parking their vehicles at various public places.
