NEWPORT, JULY 9: Leander Paes and Italy's Lawrence Tieleman each upset seeded Australians on a bad Wednesday for favourities at the rain-halted Hall of Fame Championships.Paes beat Queen's champion Scott Draper 7-5, 6-4 while Italy's Lawrence Tieleman ousted second-seed Mark Woodforde 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, in second-round matches at the $275,000 event.
American Jeff Tarango, seeded third, fell to compatriot Justin Gimelstob 3-6, 6-1, 7-6 (7-4) while eighth-seed Grant Stafford of South Africa was ousted by Mark Knowles of the Bahamas 5-7, 6-4, 4-6.
South Africa's Neville Godwin beat Canadian Sebastien Lareau 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 in the only match of unseeded players before a downpour arrived to suspend play.
