NEW DELHI, July 12: A Delhi court has issued summons to managing director of Mesco Pharmaceuticals Limited (MPL) Rita Singh and the company's directors in connection with a case of dishonoured cheque of Rs 40 lakh issued by the company.
Metropolitan magistrate Harish Dudani directed them to appear before it on October 13 on a complaint filed by Rahul Merchandising Ltd (RML) under Negotiable Instrument Act.
The complaint, moved through counsel Ramesh Madan, alleged the cheque issued by MPL on January 25, 1996 to the RML was dishonoured by the bank due to "insufficient funds" in the account.
The was cheque issued towards repayment of the inter-corporate deposit advanced by RML.
Meanwhile, a deputy magistrate granted bail to Rita Singh on Friday in another case of dishonoured cheque of Rs 5 lakh.
