Residents protest against power supply, ACP injured

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NEW DELHI, July 12: About 1,500 residents of Bhajanpura in north-east Delhi demonstrated against the erratic power supply and water crisis in the area on Saturday evening. They had gathered near Shastri Park and blocked traffic for hours.

The residents allegedly started pelting stones at the police when they were asked to clear off the place. ACP Chander Mohan who was present in the area was hit on his forehead by a stone. The police then threw five teargas shells and even resorted to a mild lathi-charge to control the crowd.

The police also rounded-up some of the protestors.
