Lucky punter nets Pound 57,000, fails to turn up

LONDON, July 14: British bookmakers William Hill today said they are searching for a man who failed to collect 57,000 pounds (about Rs 42 lakhs) worth of winnings following France's World Cup triumph.

The lucky punter placed a 16 pound accumulator bet in a Hills shop in Surbiton, Surrey on July 4 last year involving five winning selections culminating with France lifting the Jules Rimet Trophy.

``He has Pound 57,537 to pick up, but he has yet to turn up to collect,'' Hills spokesman Graham Sharpe said.
