CHANDIGARH, July 17: The last date of payment of telephone bills has been extended owing to the postal strike. For bills issued on July 1, the last date has been extended to July 31, while the last date for bills issued on July 5 (STD pay-phones) is now July 22. The Department of Telecommunication has asked STD pay-phone holders to pay bills at cash counters only.

The Department of Telecommunication has asked STD pay-phone holders to pay bills at cash counters only.
Subscribers have also been asked to inform the department -- at special telephone number (779559) -- of any major digging operation being carried out anywhere in the City.
According to department officials, following digging, there is an increase in the number of faults caused due to seepage of water.
