Stalling of women's reservation Bill flayed

S.A.S. NAGAR, July 19: The Chandigarh unit of the People's Action Front has expressed deep anguish against the leaders of various political parties who scuttled the bill seeking 33 per cent representation to women in the legislative bodies.

S.A.S. NAGAR, July 19: The Chandigarh unit of the People's Action Front has expressed deep anguish against the leaders of various political parties who scuttled the bill seeking 33 per cent representation to women in the legislative bodies.

Addressing the women activists of PAF here, the president of the Front Joginder Kaushal has denounced the conduct of some Members of Parliament who indulged in vandalism in the well of Parliament.

The PAF has urged the Speaker to immediately suspend the members who reportedly snatched the Bill from the hands of the Law Minister after removing it from the Speaker's table.Meanwhile, a contingent of 25 PAF women members led by Bhagwati Goswami left for Delhi to join women demonstrating outside the Parliament.Goswami said that the rural women would also be mobilised in big way if the Bill is not passed in the current session. She said women will allow any move to discriminate them along the lines of caste or religion.
