MUMBAI, July 24: Silver prices shot up by Rs 165 per kilo on the bullion market here Friday on higher London advices even as gold held steady. In London market, the white metal showed a rise of 2.25 cents on Thursday to close at 567.25 cents an ounce.
Ready silver (.999) opened firm and rose further sharply to end at Rs 8415, showing a steep rise of Rs 165 over the last close of Rs 8250. Raw silver (.916) rallied to Rs 8300 from Rs 8115 and tenderable silver jumped up to Rs 8420 from Rs 8255. Standard gold at Rs 4280 and 22-carat gold at 3960 showed no change from the previous close while ten-tola gold bar (.999) rose by Rs 150 on poor.
