S.A.S. NAGAR, July 24: School buses remained off roads here today, causing inconvenience to parents.
President of the Chandigarh School Bus Operators' Welfare School Manjit Singh charged the Roopnagar DTO with harassment as the buses entering S.A.S. Nagar were being told to pay tax even though these were registered with Chandigarh schools.
Recently, about 10 buses were impounded and released only on payment of Rs 1,000 as fine and another Rs 2,500 as tax for just one quarter. He also alleged that action was initiated following the HC directions without giving them any notice.
