SP moves HC for encounter probe report

July 28: The Samajwadi Party (SP) today moved an application through its lawyer Majid Memon in the High Court urging for a copy of the report of the probe into alleged fake encounters by the Mumbai police.

The party had filed a case against the Mumbai police alleging that it had killed an innocent peanut vendor in a case of mistaken identity. Principal judge A S Aguiar was appointed to probe into the encounters, in which gangsters Vijay Tandel and Sada Mama Pawle were killed. The report was recently submitted to the Bombay High Court.
