Prime accused in Coimbatore blast case held

CALCUTTA, July 28: Lance Naik K A Raju of the Assam Rifles, one of the prime accused in the Coimbatore blasts case, was arrested here today.

He was later produced in the court of chief metropolitan magistrate D Pal, where the prosecution alleged that Raju had taken a bribe of Rs 55,000 to supply RDX to the terrorist group responsible for the Coimbatore blasts last February. One of the blasts took place shortly before BJP leader L K Advani was to address a public meeting in the city, killing 58 people and injuring nearly 200.
