Youths killed in mishap
Three youths, aged 20, were killed in an accident on Vadodara-Halol Road on Tuesday morning, the police said. According to Waghodia police, the youths had come to Vadodara for purchasing and were on their way home on a Hero Honda motorcycle, (GJ-17-629), when it collided head-on with a matador (GJ-6-U-1331), just on the outskirts of Halol town. While Vijay Ram Magnani died on the spot, Dharmesh Rameshbhai Patel and Ghanshyam Kanubhai Thakkar succumbed to their injuries in Narhari Hospital in Vadodara.
Vehicle thefts
Two cases of vehicle thefts were reported from different parts of the city on Tuesday. In the first case, Balchandra Maneshi Badigar, a resident of Pratap Nagar opposite Zenith School, reported that his Bajaj scooter (GJ-6-EE-4414) worth Rs 25,000 was stolen between 7 and 8 pm on July 20, while it was parked near Lehripura police station. In another case, Binsinh Narayansinh Raval, a resident of Uday Park Society, complained that his scooter (GJ-6-O-341) was stolen from outside the Narmada Guest House on Monday.
Case registered
The Sayajigunj police has registered a case of cheating against the proprietor of Indo-Arab Travels, Bapu Kankovi. According to the police, the travel agent took Rs 14,000 and passport from Sudhir Manjulal Shah, promising to send him abroad in March. However, the agent is yet to take any measure in this regard or return his money and passport, the police said.
