VADODARA, July 28: The Archaeological Survey of India on Tuesday vacated its guest house at the Tambekar Wada following the publication of an Express Newsline report on the same.
On a visit to the site, Express Newsline found the door to the guest house locked. An attendant informed that the `guests' had been shifted to rented premises in the morning following orders of senior officials of the ASI's Circle Office.
Confirming the sealing of the guest house, Superintending Archaeologist of the Circle Office D R Gehlot said, ``I have issued orders to all subordinates not to use the place for residential or other purposes''.
Asked what the ASI planned to do about the additional facilities installed at the monument, Gehlot said, ``We intend to keep the water cooler and the sofa set as they may be needed by elderly visitors''.
