PUNE, Aug 6: State Planning Board vice-president Prakash Javdekar said here recently that he would take up with the State Government the demand to review the Pune Municipal Corporation's proposed multi-crore project for water supply and sewerage augmentation.
Talking to media persons here, Javdekar said a decision was taken at a meeting of a sub-committee appointed by the board to discuss the city's urbanisation issues.
The committee unanimously recommended that the Government stop the PMC from issuing work orders for the first phase of the Rs. 1,500 crore project. The panel felt that there were several shortcomings in the project draft which could be eliminated if it was reviewed.
``It does not matter if the project is delayed by a couple of months. It is not possible to review the project within a month,'' Javdekar said. The committee has prepared a report spelling out its reservations over the civic project.
