Braving tragedy & threats to depose
Noor-Ul Islam Abid Ali Qazi was picked up at Shivaji Nagar, Govandi, on December 9, 1992 by "policemen", was beaten up at the local shakha, then knifed by 25-odd suspected Shiv Sainiks and left to die by the road. Qazi did not die. He lived to tell his tale to Justice B N Srikrishna.

Maharashtra Govt unveils new power generation policy
In order to cope with the ever-increasing demand for power, the Industries, Energy and Labour department of Government of Maharashtra has announced a new policy to encourage power generation from non-conventional energy sources. The new policy aims at attracting private promoters who can generate power from municipal solid waste, sewage biomass and agro-waste at different places.

Home Ministry admits to rise in heinous crimes in Delhi
The Home Ministry, in its status report on the law and order situation in the Capital filed before the Delhi High Court, admitted that heinous crimes like murder, dacoities, robberies and kidnappings have gone up in the Capital this year.
