SAD threatens to pull out nominees in Govt
The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has threatened that it will withdraw its two nominees in the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Government -- Surjit Singh Barnala and Sukhbir Singh Badal -- if the ruling combine does not accept its demand of excluding Udham Singh Nagar from the proposed state of Uttaranchal.

"Minorities have no voice in Joshi reign"
Last week, Samajwadi Party Rajya Sabha member Raj Babbar declared that if the State government failed to implement the recommendations of the Srikrishna report, he and his party's elected representatives would resign en masse and submit the resignations of Mumbai's corporators to no less a person than the President of India.

VHP to boycott Minority delegation
The Gujarat vice-president of the Bharatiya Janata Party Nalin Bhatt strongly criticised the visit of the five-member National Commission for Minorities (NCM) team to probe into the recent incidents of harassment and intimidation of minorities in different parts of Gujarat. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has also announced that it will boycott the delegation.
