GDR index too sinks to an all-time low
The Asian market crisis gave the biggest blow to the GDR (global depository receipt) market. Reflecting the panic sales in the midst of uncertainty in the Indian political scenario, the Skindia GDR index touched an all-time low of 561.90 points.
MTNL to open cyber shops
Netizens can celebrate Independence Day in style. They no longer have to queue up before cyber cafes to surf the Internet -- the Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) will open eight Internet centres each in Delhi and Mumbai on August 15.
Sensex below 3000-mark
Pivotals slumped further on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) today mainly on selling pressure by the foreign funds following the fall in share prices in other Asian markets. Sensex dropped below the 3,000-mark with a further loss of 50 points.
