Daewoo signs MoU with DGFT for Matiz
Daewoo Motors India (DMIL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) for DMIL's small car -- Matiz -- in line with the new Automobile Policy announced by the Government of India. The signing of the MoU paves the way for the Matiz -- due for launch in September.

IT norms to be eased again
The second set of recommendations on the hardware sector has been well received by information technology companies, as it promises to boost production by simplifying procedures and create a competitive climate for investment. Members of the Prime Ministers Task Force on Information Technology met in Delhi till late on Thursday, to discuss the report which includes proposals to boost production by simplifying procedures and extending fiscal and financial concessions to domestic hardware manufacturers.

UTI Millennium Bonds to raise $ 500 million
Enthused by the success of State Bank of India (SBI)'s Resurgent India Bonds (RIBs), the Unit Trust of India (UTI) has decided to launch its India Millennium Bonds as soon as it gets the green signal from the Ministry of Finance. The $ 500 million bonds issue is targeted at the non-resident Indians who seek to invest in the Indian equity markets.
