SC okays trial against Jaya in Tansi case
The Supreme Court has cleared the decks for the Chennai special court to proceed with the trial against AIADMK chief J Jayalalitha in the Tansi (Tamil Nadu Small Industries Corporation) land deal case. The case, in which Jayalalitha is an accused, involves charges of defrauding the Tamil Nadu government of more than Rs 3 crore by purchasing Tansi land at a throwaway price during her tenure as Chief Minister.

Fodder scam: CBI raids official residence of Rabri
CBI personnel on Friday raided the official residence of Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi in connection with a disproportionate assets case against her husband and Rashtriya Janata Dal president Laloo Prasad Yadav. The raid followed filing of the case in the court of CBI designated judge S K Lal as an offshoot of the fodder scam in which Yadav is one of the main accused.

Army to help in relief operations at Malda
The Army has been called out in Malda in North Bengal as swelling rivers have affected 14 of the 15 blocks in the district. The Army will assist the civil administration in rescue and relief operations.
