If US can, so can we, asserts Govt
The Vajpayee government has rejected the US contention that it had the right to attack terrorists in any country but India could not take similar action in Kashmir. Accusing the US of pursuing "double standards" on the issue of combating terrorists, Union Home Minister LK Advani and the ruling BJP said it was unacceptable to India.

In its ordinance granting statutory status to the Central Vigilance Commission, the Government has brought back the controversial "single-point directive." Thus making it, once again, mandatory for the CBI to seek sanction before it can probe senior officers.
