Murder case
The Salabatpura police have registered a case of murder against two persons after a complaint was lodged against them on Tuesday afternoon by the kin of the deceased. According to Abdul Hamid alias Anna, the complainant, Sabbir Mohammed Kadiwala and Mohammed Hussain Kadiwala, both residents of Momanwad, Salabatpura, strangled Ghulam Shabbir Abdul Karim to death on Monday evening. According to the police, the deceased, Ghulam Sabbir, had an affair with the daughter of the accused. The accused warned Ghulam not to meet the girl and in the argument that followed, they strangled him. A case of murder under section 302 of the IPC has been registered and is being investigated.

Dowry case
A woman lodged a case against her husband on Monday night stating that he was physically and mentally torturing her for dowry. On Monday night, however, the accused doused her with kerosene and even set her on fire, but was eventually saved by the neighbours, the victim added. The Limbayat police have registered a case of attempt to murder against the accused under sections 307 and 498 (a) of the IPC as well as sections 3 and 5 of the Dowry Act.

Theft
Twenty tins of mustard oil, worth Rs 15,700, were reported stolen in a case of house-breaking registered in the Katargam police station on Tuesday. Somchand Shah, the owner of a godown located at Khadi Mohalla, Phoolwadi in Katargam, told the police that unidentified people broke the lock of his godown after 11 pm on Monday and took away the oil tins. A case under sections 457 and 380 of the IPC has been registered at the police station.
