Paes-Bhupathi march into third round
India's Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes marched into the third round of the US Open tennis tournament doubles with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Karsten Braasch (Germany) and Marcos Ondruska (South Africa) on Friday. The Indians, seeded fourth, entered the second round beating Fernando Meligeni (Brazil) and Mariano Puerta (Argentina) 7-5, 7-6 (7-5).

Srikkanth exudes confidence
Cricket manager of the Indian team for the Commonwealth Games K Srikkanth is confident the team picked for the prestigious event will perform with distinction. "We will try and do our best and win a medal,'' the former dashing opener said in an interview.

Russia, Cuba taken to 4 sets
