NEW DELHI, September 7: A 50-year-old businessman was shot dead under mysterious circumstances at the Naoriji Nagar bus stop in Sarojini Nagar this evening.M.K. Dhingra, who run a motor pump business from his shop-cum-residence at Sarojini Nagar, had reportedly gone to the bus stop to see off an employee Vicky Kohli, 25, at around 8 pm.
According to DCP (south-west) P.K. Bharadwaj, the businessman and his employee conversed for some time and then Vicky apparently boarded a bus and left for home. What transpired thereafter is not clear, and so far there are no eyewitnesses. Dhingra was found shot dead at 8.25 pm at the bus stop.
Express Newsline spoke to Vicky's sister. The siblings live in Mayur Vihar Phase I. Another relative at the house said: ``Vicky returned home around 9 pm. But he left once again, after the police called up to say that something had happened to his employer and he should go to the police station.''
While Vicky was at the police station when this report was filed, a police team had gone to his house to conduct a search and question his relatives.
Vicky's relative added that Vicky has been working with Dhingra for almost two years. This morning, he had accompanied Dhingra to Faridabad to finalise some business deal.
