Governor questions dismissal of JAAC
Using his constitutional prerogatives Governor Sunder Singh Bhandari on Friday sought a clarification from the Bihar Government on the sacking of the Jharkhand Autonomous Area Council.

BJD demands removal of Patnaik over Anjana case
The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Friday demanded imposition of Article 356 for the dismissal of Congress government in Orissa headed by JB Patnaik. The president of the BJD and Union minister for Steel and Mines Naveen Patnaik said that he will take up the issue with Prime Minister AB Vajpayee.

Two-party political system to face opposition from CPI
The Communist Party of India (CPI) on Friday asserted that it was opposed to the consolidation of a two-party political system in the country, and would fight the polarisation of forces around the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
