Gawli moves court for bail

MUMBAI, Sept 19: Underworld gangster Arun Gawli approached the Sessions Court on Friday for getting an anticipatory bail in connection with his alleged involvement in the murder of Director of IN Cable and CVO Ram Punjabi on September 11.

Gawli's application is expected to come up for hearing on September 21 and is presently lodged at Amravati Central Jail under the MPDA Act. In the application, filed by advocate Avinash Rasal, Gawli has stated he has compelled to move the Sessions Court following reports in a section of the press that Punjabi was murdered by one Bandya Adiwadekar and Dilip Kulkarni, both belonging to the Gawli gang.
