MUMBAI, September 21: A new syllabus and autonomy to some premier educational institutions are the best answer to revive education in commerce in the state, according to Higher and Technical Education Minister Datta Rane.
The minister was speaking after inaugurating the two-day state level conference on review and prospects of commerce education in Maharashtra held recently.
Other academicians noted the increasing number of students for the commerce stream, lack of a standard syllabus (each university drafts its own syllabus) and uninspiring teachers as major problems.
