All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) chief J Jayalalitha today spoke of a "suspicion" regarding the Bharatiya Janata Party's plan to engineer splits in the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Samajwadi Party (SP) with the intention of gaining a majority in the Lok Sabha and the State Assembly.

"Whatever I have done is in people's interest"
Justifying asking the Centre to impose President's Rule in Bihar, Governor Sunder Singh Bhandari says he did it in the people's interest, to save democracy and restore confidence. Bhandari terms his report "bramhashtra" and feels Assembly Speaker Dev Narain Yadav had, despite a series of defections, kept the matter pending for the ruling Rashtriya Janata Dal's benefit which was "unconstitutional".
