HYDERABAD, OCT 1: Andhra Pradesh government would issue an ordinance by next week to effect the now controversial categorisaton of scheduled castes into four groups.
Talking to media persons after a Cabinet meet today, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said, ``The Cabinet decided to bring in an ordinance categorising SCs into A, B, C and D groups for the purpose of reservations in employment and education.''
There were sharp differences among various sub-castes in the state on the issue of categorisation.
While Mala community under the banner of Mala Mahanadu is opposing the categorisation, Madiga sub-caste has been agitating for its implementation.
