Secondary teachers' dharna for pay

PUNE, Oct 12: The Maharashtra Secondary School Teachers' Federation today staged demonstrations at the three-day headmasters' conference at Akurdi to protest against the delay in announcement of the new pay scales as per the Fifth Pay Commission.

The decision was taken at a meeting held at Shivaji Maratha School here yesterday. According to a press release, the federation has decided to go on an indefinite strike after Diwali if the State Government does not announce the pay scales by October 16. The federation will submit a memorandum to Education Minister Sudhir Joshi. The headmasters' meet is being held at Mhalsakant School in Akurdi.
