V Care's Diwali offer

October 12: V Care, a voluntary emotional support group for cancer patients and their families, has organised a `share-a-celebration' programme to mark Diwali for cancer patients. To reinforce the universal truth "sharing is caring", the group has been organising Diwali celebrations programme since the last year. Well wishers have donated gift hampers of food and toiletries, which will be distributed by recovered patients to inspire patients currently undergoing treatment on October 16 at the Tata Memorial hospital, Shanti Avedna and Lady Ratan Tata Radiation Centre.

Over 600 patients will thus celebrate the festival away from their homes. Founded in 1994, V Care has been organising different programmes with a view to create awareness among the patients and masses about the cancer. A special function for children will also be held, added sources.
