More facilities in chawls, says MHADA

OCTOBER 12: The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has allowed additional facilities like a living room, a small bedroom and a bath under the scheme to reconstruct dilapidated chawls in the city.The area of the flat will, however, remain 225 sq ft. Till date, only a kitchen and a living room was provided to the chawl owners.In a recently issued circular, MHADA introduced some modifications in the scheme in an attempt to provide better housing facilities which will be provided in new projects and also to flats under construction.
