MUMBAI, Oct 14: Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Prataprao Bhosale today criticised the Shiv Sena-Bharatiya Janata Party alliance Government ``for making populist announcements and failing to fulfill any of the commitment mentioned in the poll manifesto.''Addressing a press conference, Bhosale said, ``Leaders of the alliance Government have a divided opinion on every issue. They had promised free houses to 40 lakh slum-dwellers, employment to 27 lakh youth, additional money to cotton farmers. They have done nothing. The latest is free electricity to farmers. We have decided to wait and watch.''
Bhosale said he had invited applications from party district units for the forthcoming elections to the Maharashtra Legislative Council. ``The applications will be scrutinised and after the routine procedure, the party candidates will be announced.''
Bhosale added that the party advocates had prepared a draft of the petition to be filed in the Bombay High Court seeking legal action againstthose named in the Justice B N Srikrishna report. ``We will soon move the court and ask for stringent action against those indicted,'' he said.
