MUMBAI, OCT 14: Holders Indian Airlines made mincemeat of Western Railway, Mumbai as they landed smoothly and safely in the semi-finals of the 61st All India Obaidullah Khan Gold Cup Hockey Tournament at the Aishbagh Stadium here today.Seeded directly into the quarter finals, Indian Airlines derailed Western Railway as the former overwhelmed the latter by seven goals to two to make the last four grade and join Central Railway and South Central Railway in the line-up.
International left-in Sameer Dad drilled in three goals while another local lad international centre-forward Altaf-ur-Rahman reaped one. The other three goals for Airmen were scored by Dilip Tirkey, VS Rawat and Mohammad Arif. The goal-getters for the Railwaymen were centre-forward Mukhtiar Singh and left-out Deepak Gupta.
