Old woman run over
An unidentified elderly woman was run over by a vehicle during the early hours of Wednesday and died on the spot, the Sachin police stated. Subhash Prajapati, a resident of Lajpore village on the Surat Navsari Road, has in a complaint stated that he found the body on the road at around 6:30 am on Wednesday. A case under CrPC 174 has been registered and investigations are on, the police added.

Fatal fall
Ramvilas Mahanto (40), a manual labourer working in the Textile Market of the city, succumbed to injuries on Wednesday afternoon at the Ashaktashram hospital. According to the Kapodara police, Mahanto, who fell while on duty and sustained serious head injuries, was undergoing treatment since the past fortnight. A case under CrPC 174 has been registered at the police station.

Kidnapped
The Salabatpura police have registered a case of kidnapping against unidentified persons following a complaint lodged by one Bhanubhai Patel that his brother Natwar Patel was kidnapped on Tuesday evening. Bhanubhai has stated that Natwar was kidnapped from the Textile market by some unidentified people. However, he has not named any suspects. A case under IPC 365 and 114 has been registered, the police said.

Vehicle stolen
A Bajaj scooter (GJ 5 HH 80) of one Jagjivandad Jethna was reported stolen from the Galemandi area of Mahidharpura on Wednesday, according to a case registered in the Mahidharpura police station. The complainant has stated that his scooter was parked opposite Mahavir Furniture at Lakkad Kot on the Galemandi Road. The police have registered a case under IPC 380.
