Economist Amartya Sen gets Nobel
Professor Amartya Sen has been awarded the 1998 Nobel Prize in Economics. Sen is the sixth Indian and first Indian economist to win the prize.

CBMs to top agenda of Indo-Pak dialogue

Govt draws up new action plan to combat ISI ultras
A seven-point action plan, calling for creation of special task forces to tackle the menace of ISI-sponsored terrorism and criminal gangs and reorientation of criminal justice system, was formulated at a meeting of chief ministers of seven northern states in New Delhi yesterday.
