West Asia interim pact signed
Israel and Palestine vowed to implement the interim land-for-peace accord signed on Saturday and carry on the spirit of cooperation to the final round of talks scheduled to begin within 10 days even as radical hardliners from both sides slammed the deal.

PMO shoots down Jethmalani's choice for Secy
The confrontation between Urban Affairs Minister Ram Jethmalani and the bureaucracy shows no signs of ending. The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and the Cabinet Secretariat have now torpedoed the minister's request to post a senior IAS officer of the Karnataka cadre as secretary in the ministry in place of Kiran Aggarwal.
