Karnataka Chief Minister J H Patel has rejected the demand of former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda to convene a meeting of the Janata Dal Legislature Party (JDLP) before October 28 to prove his strength.

Bhosale to contest Council elections
The latest to confirm candidature for the forthcoming Maharashtra Legislative Council elections is Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Pratap Bhosale. Elections for the six seats of the Legislative Council are scheduled for November 13 and Bhosale has decided to contest the polls from Satara-Sangli local self government constituency.
